Universals New Ride

This weekend I was able to ride the new Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. They are having technical rehearsals this week. We got an email for annual pass holders to experience the ride and we signed up.

First of all, it was insanely crowded on Saturday. I know that it's Spring break and a weekend and a new ride is almost open, so of course it's going to be crowded. There is construction going on and there are only six rides and two shows. Some of the wait times for rides were over two hours. We decided to add the front of the line pass to our ticket for the day. We were thinking about VIP but it's pretty expensive and it sold out. Front of the line gets you to the front on all of the rides and shows (one time). It was sooo worth it! Maybe one day I will try out the VIP tour...

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem:
The entrance to the ride is awesome! They made it look like Gru's home and the foster home that the girls came from. They are also opening up "Silly Fun Land" from the movie. This was still under construction.

The line for the ride zig-zags and fools you into not knowing how long it is and it's all outside, so in the summer it's going to be hot... just saying... Im glad I got to ride it early.
Once you get your 3D goggles and head into Gru's you are on your way to being a minion.

I don't want to give too much of the ride away, I think it is the same as the one in Orlando that's been open for a while though. I will say that it is a motion simulator ride, like a few others in the park.
It is really cute and I think that everyone will enjoy the ride, especially kids. At the exit of the ride get ready for a dance party...
This ride and Silly Fun Land is opening April 11th!
